FIERA ROMA POSTPONES ROME MOTODAYS
NEW DATES: FROM 17 TO 19 APRIL 2020
HEALTH AND ECONOMY PROTECTION AT THE CENTER OF THE CHOICE
Rome, 25 February 2020 – In view of the latest developments related to the spread of Coronavirus, Fiera Roma has decided to postpone the next edition of Roma Motodays, the new dates are from 17 to 19 April 2020. The choice was made after careful consideration comparison with sector operators and aims to protect health and the economy.
“We believed, although the public protocol did not prescribe the postponement, that this was the right decision to take, to protect both the health of our visitors, exhibitors and workers, and the economic interests of the companies involved and Fiera Roma itself – explains Pietro Piccinetti, CEO and General Director of Fiera Roma. – At this delicate juncture it is essential to keep calm, avoiding blowing on easy alarms and feeding hysterias. It is responsible for seeking solutions that safeguard public health as much as possible, but also the right to work of hundreds and hundreds of families, which the economic backlash linked to the situation jeopardizes. Our institutions – Piccinetti underlines – are facing the danger of the virus with admirable scrupulousness, we hope that the same will be done in Europe, with common control policies on the contagion, currently not received “.
All the staff of Roma Motodays worked to best carry out their task and try to complete the event on the set dates. Only in the last hours, having taken note of the situation of a national nature, was the decision to move. The new date included in the exhibition center calendar guarantees the two-wheel sector maximum visibility at the most important moment for the market and in the period during which the public can be facilitated in the purchase after having viewed and tested the product concretely.
Both the value placed on the market as a result of the EPAC, Electric Pedal Assisted Cycle, in the last 5 years, and the figures relating to the end of the year for the motorized two-wheeler sector, which only in Lazio has seen 24,638 registrations in 2019, reinforce the assumption that Roma Motodays is an important asset in the entire national exhibition landscape and is a concrete support for manufacturers and related industries.
