The Environment
FIERA ROMA… PROUD TO BE ECO-FRIENDLY. . Renewable energy has landed at Rome’s new trade fair hub. By using technological solutions with a revolutionary design, Green Utility Energy SpA agreed with Fiera Roma e Investimenti SpA to construct the largest Thin Film Photovoltaic Power Plant in Italy and one of the largest in the world. It covers a surface area of 38,000 m2 on the roofs of the halls in Rome’s new trade fair hub The plant not only produces 1.8 million kWh/year for an investment of approximately EUR 10 million, it also enables CO2 emissions to be reduced by 1,400,000 kg/year, equal to the energy consumption of approximately 1,000 families. This is due to the use of a special type of more flexible, light-weight photovoltaic panel than traditional panels. Known as “THIN FILM”, it has enabled a photovoltaic plant to be constructed that integrates perfectly with the innovative architecture of the New Trade Fair.
