LIPEDEMA EXPERIENCE: Knowledge in Motion

LIPEDEMA EXPERIENCE – Knowledge in Motion is the event organized by Fiera Roma and ITALF — Italian Lymphoedema Framework — which, on 12 and 13 June 2026, brought together specialists, healthcare professionals, and organizations committed to scientific dissemination and training. The event created an opportunity for dialogue with patients, family members, and people who suspect they may be living with lipedema.

The objective behind the design of LIPEDEMA EXPERIENCE was to offer a serious, ethical, and multidisciplinary point of reference, far removed from the oversimplifications and misleading promises that often characterize the way this still widely underdiagnosed condition is described.

The initiative officially launched the activities of Fiera Roma Academy, the new permanent high-level training ecosystem promoted by Fiera Roma. Conceived as a space for meeting, development, and the sharing of skills in the strategic sectors of organized trade fair events, the Academy features 14 studios, training rooms, spaces dedicated to lecturers, and hospitality areas. It hosts refresher courses, outreach activities, and opportunities for discussion among universities, professionals, companies, and the scientific community.

On the occasion of LIPEDEMA EXPERIENCE, the Academy spaces were set up to host medical rooms dedicated to diagnosis and specialist consultations with nutritionists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, and other health professionals, alongside practical activities related to the daily management of the condition.

The program included an informative congress open to the public, designed to make technical and scientific content accessible through clear and understandable language, as well as a training course endorsed by the University of Verona and promoted by RIE Academy, an educational project dedicated to the world of professional aesthetics and an integral part of Fiera Roma Academy.

Beyond the event: knowledge continues

As part of the dissemination activities launched with LIPEDEMA EXPERIENCE, Fiera Roma Academy collected ten interviews with some of the leading experts who contributed to the initiative, in order to continue exploring the topics addressed during the event and share them with an increasingly wider audience.

From medicine to sports science, from nutrition to scientific research, these different perspectives explore one of the central themes that emerged during the event: the role of movement and physical activity as tools for health and quality of life. This body of knowledge continues to grow beyond the event itself, with the aim of promoting accurate information, awareness, and education.
